An installation created by designer Begüm Aydınoglu under the direction of Studio Mercado, featuring Ottan panels adorned with patterns depicting the changing rate of melting ice on the Columbia Glacier in Alaska, as monitored by NASA over the years, was exhibited in Istanbul as part of the “Contemporary Istanbul”. The parametric designs on the Ottan panels, which were upcycled from eggshells, drew significant attention by visually highlighting the consequences of climate change through their differences.

A new Ottan material, specially designed for the Arçelik Telve Cafe, was used in the surface applications of the cafe, lead by Lunapark Creative Works. The eye-catching surfaces, created by upcycling kilograms of hazelnut and pistachio shells, will continue to be applied in different locations.
